If this is like the last Nexus 5 I bought through FreedomPop, then these are already unlocked and ready to go for any GSM carrier. The big thing you'll need to do first is unlock the boot loader and flash the stock ROM from Google's Developer website.

Once I did that I was able to use it on my carrier, T-Mobile. However, the IMEI will still be "in use" for Sprint so you won't be able to use it on Sprint post-paid or any other Sprint-based MVNO.

Pretty sure you'll need to have FreedomPop release the IMEI before you can use it on R+ or any other Sprint-based MVNO.

pretty sure Jbh98 works for freedompop. most of the freedompop deals are posted by that user. so i would beware of deals they post since it is sponsored and not "slick".

Also beware of buying used phones from freedompop since they have poor quality control and you have a high chance of getting a bad device.

I would steer clear of any used Nexus 5. Many failures of WiFi/Bluetooth of 2 year old units, including mine. And 70% off is laughable because they are comparing to when it was new.

Sorry to hear about your nexus 5. My nexus 5 still works great. 😁

Have you tried unlocking the bootloader and flashing a fresh Google rom?

Your Nexus is simply POS. My Nexus 5 has been going strong for almost 3 years. Best phone ever.

$100 seems to be much considering we all got the LG G2 for $70 a few months ago.

My Nexus bought $120 a year ago is still working great. It runs updated Android 6.0.x and can be used in Ring plus or any GSM. I replaced the battery.

I have three friends with Nexus 5's and two of them have failed already. The last one is barely hanging on.

Well, Jbh98 has "Staff" flair below the name and posts a lot of deals. Maybe Slickdeals has employees that post stuff?
