Went to home depot today and found GE link bulbs on a cart, asked an associate to scan but he told me they are not selling it any more after scanning. Sneaked and took 1 and went to cashier, and indeed it is 1 cent. They only have 1 bulb, rest are flood light type. So I went to another store and indeed they scanned 1 cent, they are still marked $7.50. Very BIG YMMV, happy hunting!!

What's the model or sku number? It going for a penny means it's being pulled from the shelves.

What about the starter kits. I was at my local Home Depot earlier and, coincidently, the 60w bulbs were gone. On the shelf sat a bunch of starter kits.

Why didn't you scan it to see?

Yeah, my store had the starter kits and 60W bulbs at $10. Wondering the same thing about these.

EDIT: Saw them a few days ago, wondering if the price has changed since then.

these bulbs are terrible in my opinion. I have two that stopped working, they are now nothing more than an led bulb. I have them connected to a zwave switch that works much better.

I have at least 10 of these in the house and they've been fine for like a year

I picked up a couple yesterday at $10 each. They rang up at $.01 each, register called for assistance and the clerk at self check out wasn't going to sell them to me, but readjusted price to $10 each after speaking to her manager. They had about 30 bulbs left at Rialto, CA store. I asked to buy them all if they would lower price to $5 each instead of pulling from shelves, but no dice.

I would take a look at this before buying. looks like GE recalled alot of bulbs due to safety concern and maybe thats why it's being pulled? https://www.consumeraffairs.com/h...bulbs.html

They are not supposed to sell it to you, but they could give it to you. It is free, no receipt so you cannot return it. This from experience, twice already for different item.
Got one for free on the first store. I went straight to self check out on the second store.

Congrats on the Score! The 1 cent HD clearance (I'd like 100 please!) ... I got window blinds once for 1 cent and other SDers have found other items before, these are like 4 leaf clovers

It's called a penny SKU. This happens when Home Depot tries to clearance them out and is unsuccessful at selling all of them.
Once it hits a penny the store is given credit and is required to throw them away. If you find them on the floor you are very lucky and the department supervisor did not do their job and managing the reports.
Anyway... it's on a managers discretion if they sell the product to you. Be polite and be innocent.
