Good deal. I didn't need just yet, but ordered anyway. Wonder how long the shelf life is?

FWIW you can get a 50lb bag, 1 gallon of oil and a quart of popcorn salt/seasoning for the same price from GFS's stores.

Sure that would be a good value for a popcorn seller or a large group, but for a normal family the oil would go rancid, popcorn would degrade over time. Might be able to avoid with vacuum sealing the corn in a bucket though. I would not make it through a quart of oil and a 5lb bag of popcorn in a timely manner personally, but of course ymmv. Sometimes bulk just isn't sensible. I know you qualified with the FWIW and I agree, but want to warn the typical popcorn lovers who might consider your post. The thread here is more sensible for a typical family.

I think you are referring to Flavicol, available @ GFS which is cheap and tasty butter tasting salt seasoning. It comes in paper milk carton quart containers and is the only cheap one at my GFS. Great stuff!

I buy it and we sell it as a fund raiser for a non-profit. we pop on Thursdays and burn through a 50lb bag in 5-6 sale days. GFS sells 10lb bags too, for like $1/lb, which isn't much saving over 2lb bags from the grocery.

I buy the 2lb bag for home use and just use vegetable oil in a pot. the kernels probably last a year in a poorly sealed bag.

yeah i get that green carton of flavicol salt. i also pick up the seasoning salts (white ched/nacho/butter)for people to add if they want. have you ever tried the GFS popcorn seasoning salt in the plastic container?

That's a lot of corn. U would have to go through a couple bags a week or it will go bad on you in my experience. I get the 24 pack from Amazon and we have corn on movie night every weekend, but I never make it through a box before it starts to turn. Great price though.

I only got the Flavicol from them. I see some for $10 for a 40 oz bottle. Is this [whataneventfl.com]the one? What is your opinion vs Flavicol? Worth the huge price difference? They don't stock it at my GFS. They have toe 8 ox special flavored salls like you mentioned, but not their own. Weird. I have been twice now and not seen it.
