Billiard Table

TimmyT1611 124 40 June 16, 2016 at 12:32 AM More Sam's Club Deals
I am looking for a pool table at a cheap price. My budget is 500-700$ I am just going to use it occasionally and will probably be purchasing a ping pong top for it.
So far I found this one, http://www.samsclub.com/sams/7-5f...nkneSBObIA

Anyone got any other recommendations? First time purchasing something like this.

That thing is a complete POS. For your budget, go used all the way. Check out Craigslist or other used sources. Always decent pool tables for sale. Make sure the deck (table top) is slate. Actual slate and nothing else (like slatron). 1" is preferred. Brunswick is the top brand with olhausen a close second.

You will not get any pool table worth anything in that price range. Real tables have a slate surface and weigh many 100s of pounds (because the slate is very heavy)...and the cabinet needs to be sufficiently bulky and sturdy to support that weight. They are not constructed in do-it yourself kits but require professional felting, installation and leveling. The pool table you reference in your link is not a slate table and most liking has a wood\plywood\particle board surface and is a cheap piece of junk imo. A decent low-end table will run in the $1500-$2000 range. And those will usually be lower end imports from China. Higher end tables run in the many thousands.

If you want an idea on it, check out EBay for used prices on slate pool tables in your area. That is the best place to get one on the cheap. Still not going to find anything decent in your price range though imo but you may find something in the 1000 dollar range used (transport and assembly by a pro will cost and additional 300-500 too depending on your area). If budget is the issue, then I would just look to get something else like a standard ping pong table, foos ball table or air hockey or whatever interests you. There is nothing worse than a cheap POS pool table imo. My 2 cents.
