Does "seconds" mean the shoes have scratches/tears/rips?

Not sure how great of a deal this is? I have been eye balling the mcgregors for a while now at shoebank and they have been holding steady at 137.00 since January. So, I know those aren't 30-50% at AE advertises that ALL shoes are.

Tent Sale 06/16/16 - 06/26/16. Save 30% - 50% on all current factory seconds. Savings is based on manufacturer's suggested First-Quality retail price (MSRP). Pricing on Shoebank.com displays the Factory-Seconds regular price and in red the final price for current factory seconds. Closeout styles priced as indicated on Shoebank.com. Pricing valid only on sizes available. While supplies last.

Yes, but my point is, many of the shoes have already been discounted at this price (such as the Mcgregors). This is just clever marketing for them to make it seem like they are adding additional discounts to those of us who keep constant check on Shoebank. I check it weekly and the current promotion (30-50% off) isn't any different that the prices have been. I'm a HUGE fan of AE's. I own 3 pair but I have gotten them cheaper than this before.

From memory, some prices were increased from a few days ago. I hate the tent sale.

Thanks OP. Picked up the Park Avenues for $190 after the Amex discount. I was looking for them in a particular size and color in a hard to find combination, and luckily they had one pair left.

Yep, I'm a AE regular, and this particular tent sale is not a good sale. It used to be but not this one. I purchased some shoes a month ago that were 70-100$ less than the current sale prices.

No joke, the tent sale is usually one their best sales. Probably they are not doing too well financially and have resorted to 'faking' a sale like many other manufacturers do. You can certainly get better prices later on if you hold out.

That being said, doesn't change the fact that AE shoes are still top notch.

Yep - I bought Concord Ave's for $67 about a month ago, and it's the same price during the tent sale. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Prices on the styles I have been watching are no different than they were a couple weeks ago. Nothing new here.

It's the same prices as during the memorial day weekend sale. But it's cheaper than usual. The price 2 weeks ago was a sale price too.

There are a few notable price reductions, but overall as others have said - not much different than their standard pricing for seconds.

The big difference is the reduction on shell cordovan shoes - they've been holding steady at $529 for seconds, and are all on sale for $399 now. Definitely still expensive, but you throw the AMEX offer in and you're looking at $349 for a pair of shell cordovan AE's.

One other tip - if you have concerns about quality, call one of the retail stores vs. the main customer service center, if they have your shoe in stock. They will almost always go get the actual pair of shoes for you and check them over with you on the phone. The best is when they have multiple pairs in stock and you can get the employee to pick the best one for you. Ordering from the main customer service center has always been hit or miss for me.

The prices have been the same for well over a month. This isn't any change. I follow them closely. There may be an exception, and there are more, but the prices haven't changed a bit. They'be been pulling this same crap for awhile.
