All,

Microcenter has the Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz LGA 1151 Boxed Processor for $289.00 In store only. Since this is the boxed CPU, it does not come with a CPU Cooler, you will need to get one yourself.

Product: http://www.microcenter.com/produc..._Processor

If you buy with a qualified motherboard, you can get another $30 off.

It is $314.99 at Newegg and $359.99 at Amazon

Thanks all!

I'm considering building a new gaming PC, should I get this, something else or wait for one of the new processors? I don't mind spending a little more if it makes sense, I don't have any interest in more than one GPU.

I purchased it back when that post came up -- it's a great deal, though!

Sometimes the search engine on the site doesn't always work properly. Normally what I do is type in 1 keyword, (e.g. 6700K) and nothing else. Under the search options, tick the checkbox that says "search on titles only". And then do a 2nd search without that box checked.

Gaming PC components prices are coming down. So tempting to build one only if I have cpu fans, case and themo paste laying around.

If you're not streaming, editing, encoding media and all that jazz then save your money. A 6600k will be just fine if you get a decent gpu. There will be little difference in graphic performance between this and a 6600k.

This seems to a good price... Especially if you add on the combo savings you can get instore, you can potentially save a decent amount if you buy your motherboard, ram, ssd, and cpu from microcenter.

I got one myself, and this thing is a beast, with a noctua im running only 30 C idle and 39 C at load... with a slight overlock to 4.2

I knew I should have waited, got mine on Pi day for $314 when it was going for $399. I hate being impatient!
