So...I have a travel credit with carnival cruise lines and I picked the cruise I want to go on. Is anyone aware of a way to make the travel purchase while at the same time saving some money? I looked into urlhasbeenblocked, which I use all the time but they don't offer a deal on cruises. Any advice? The cruise will cost approximately $2,000 so just trying to get the most bang for my buck. Thanks!

Do you know that after you buy a cruise that if the price goes down on that cruise you can get a price adjustment? Carnival will, in most cases, adjust the price for your cruise if a lower rate becomes available for the category you've reserved as long as you have not yet made final payment and are still outside the penalty period, which typically begins 75 to 90 days in advance of departure. Once you have made final payment and are within the penalty period, the price is locked in. If prices are reduced inside this time frame, they may let you cancel your reservation and rebook you at the lower rate, but you would have to pay the applicable cancellation penalties before rebooking, and the penalties almost always outweigh the savings.

Also, YOU have to watch the prices -- they don't automatically reduce your rate. There are a couple of websites that you can subscribe to for a small fee that notify you. I haven't done that, but the person who told me saved $1000s.
