Thread Details

This laptop just dropped in price by $100 to $1099 and a cashback site starting with an 'e' and ending in 'bates' has 10% cashback for Samsung.com currently.
Free shipping. I ordered around midnight on June 13th and it was delivered on June 15th. Also received $110 cashback confirmation a couple hours after ordering.

Also available at BestBuy for the same price ($1099) but I am unsure if movers coupon would work. My local BestBuy did not have it in stock.

Only thing I wish it had was a USB C port and a 512GB SSD. Has everything else I was looking for in a good travel laptop.

you could easily swap out with a 512gb ssd. but if it's a PCIe ssd, it won't be cheap. like $300+ for a good one.

Samsung laptop is not so easy to replace hard drive.

I have one of these and upgraded the drive, 500Gb is about $180, the replacement is super simple, about 8 tiny Phillips screws on the bottom of the case and a single screw for the m.2 drive

Per this review the motherboard doesn't support PCIe. I haven't tried though.

Just thought I would share what I found out yesterday. I purchased the Ativ 9 Spin from a local Best Buy and drove over to Microcenter to purchase the Samsung 950 Pro 512GB with NVMe. It is now confirmed that even with the latest BIOS update that this laptop does NOT support PCIe protocol therefore a NVMe drive will not function. Best drive I believe you can put in this right now (at least that I'm aware of) is a Samsung 850 EVO. It's 500GB, but the sequential read and writes are around 515-540. Hope this helps!

I ordered one earlier for $1199 and I received it. But, I came to know that there is a EPP discount and also original price came down to $1099. I contacted samsung customer support and requested to do price match, but they said they can't adjust the price and asked me to return and place new order to get the current price along with EPP discount.
So, I ordered one through EPP for $980 plus 10% discover cashback..

take it from someone who's returned 2 and got a new one for an open box price...

this laptop is gorgeous and works amazing

but it's battery life is subpar

normal use you can get about 3 -4 hours maybe 5

that's garbage, my i75500u spectre got 8 with similar usage.

i'm returning it today

waiting on kaby lake, but need a laptop to get by on

or getting a dell xps / another spectre / or lookin at the surface book again......

that NEW Razer Blade Stealth looks great too might grab that instead, should be about 3 weeks for them to be in stock at the Razer Store
