I don't get the appeal. Just put your steak or burger in the oven if you're going to do it this way, and save yourself $100.

Cool story bro.. Not all of us live in areas where we can have gas or charcoal grills. Its illegal here to have open flame grills on balcony

I bought this in red last year. Moved into an apartment. Can't have propane grills with apartments in this state. Very happy with my grill. Takes a little longer on the baked potatoes. Just grilled some lobster tails, flank steaks and corn on the cob the other night and they were delicious.

Can you tell the difference between gas and electric?

Also, does it get hot enough to leave the lid open for burgers? I know chicken and pork it does not but I figure burgers might work. Also how is cleaning the grates. One of the things always loved about grilling is I could just use a steel brush on it and not have to work about anything. You don't have to take the grates out and wash them and shit do you?

Most cities ban propane grills on apartments. If you think its legal in your city, its probably not.

You could grill burgers and hotdogs on it with the lid off. it gets up to like 450 degrees when the lid us on. It'll probably take a little longer though. I haven't really noticed a big time difference between cooking on a gas grill and on this patio grill, but I usually cook on low setting with a gas grill anyway. You can use a wire scrubber on the grates. I warm up the grill just like I would a gas grill and I use a wire brush to scrub off the excess. Marinade drains to a dish at the bottom just like your gas grill would. I've grilled on it when it was about 5 degrees outside and did just fine. I saw a tip someone wrote about putting a wire mesh over the drain at the bottom and using ceramic briquettes under the heating element to better retain heat when the lid is off. I'll probably do that sometime but it's not necessary. This gives the impression that it's a George Foreman type grill but it's really not. I think it was $140 when I bought it last year, so this seems like a great deal. I've been very happy with mine.

I got one of these on Prime day for under $100. I'm a fan of the flavor I get from this grill. It's easy to clean and has held up well. I bought the official cover for another twenty-something at the time and has held up great through several rain storms too. I just bring the small electric piece inside so it stays in good condition.

Overall, very pleased with my purchase and bought my mother one as well. She thinks it's just swell. I get a nice laugh every time she says that because she's so adamant to let others know how happy she is with it.

I know what the laws are where I reside. Thanks, but that was not the purpose of my question.

New York and New Jersey are two of them that are illegal. I am on the fence about this deal myself, as I heard about electric grills not doing as well compared to others. Thanks for the deal though.

Nothing is as good as charcoal or gas but this grill will get hot enough.
