To add a amex authorized user, you can use 000000001 for temporary SSN to pass the SSN requirement checkbox, they will send mail for you to update it later.

Also there are some potential problem to add authorized user:

1. If you add a real authorized user, they will have that card information on their credit reports.
And it will affect their credit score and/or impact their ability to apply loan/credit card. (like Chase's 5/24 limitation)

2. It won't give them hard pull, but their report will shows up with new account added, thus it might affect their credit score.

3. It won't give you hard pull either.

So to sum up: if you want to enjoy the benefits of 10,000 hhonor points, maybe best is provide your pet's name, and 000000001 then shred the card when you receive it.

I have both the free and surpass also, once I logged into that webpage, I was only shown the free Hilton card having 10,000 bonus

Will try the surpass card number later. Thanks

Just checked, my Amex Hilton surpass don't have 10k bonus shown.

So far it looks like only works on HH AmEx/
As for Plat, even add a authorized user will bump your annual fee of $175

BTW, what's the purpose/benefit to use SSN 000000001 in the initial application, then wait for snail mail to update? If they really require the SSN of the 2nd person and I already know it, i perhaps should just provide it in the application the first time and get the points faster?

Adding authorized user will be a hard pull on their credit report which goes against Mfer Chase 5/24 rule

Hard inquiry for 10,000 points is FOOLISH

Only if you are providing SSN and correct name details. You can simply make up any name (or use your pets name) and bypass SSN using 000000001. It won't impact anything on your application or credit history. Its worth taking a shot for additional 10k hilton points, as this will cost you NOTHING.
