Thread Details

I have got 10 prepaid cards from TD bank with balance on all of them. I would like accumulate the monies from all the cards into one or in my bank account.. I am not sure how to do that.

Can someone guide me easiest and economical way to figure this out.

I tried using paypal but it charges me for sending money from prepaid card. Which is not most economical way.

Just use them to buy groceries or pay a utility bill. It's too complicated/not practical to transfer things on a card into a bank account.

What is the balance on them?

Use them to purchase gas and/or amazon gift cards if you shop there.

you didn't mention how much balance is left on each card. If it's <$50 and you shop at WM or any grocery store that has SCO, you can buy a store GC and load it with exact amount on each card just to drain it. The SCO at WM is user friendly and easy to use for this with the lowest load at .01 so you can drain each one of your card into just one WM GC and then shop with it. After loading the first card, you press the Reload button for succeeding transactions. You can do this when there are no other customers and you don't have to deal with a cashier.

IINM, Kroger has select stores with SCO that you can buy GCs, I don't have K so I can't confirm this but this might be another option for you to buy Visa/MC GCs.

Is using them an option? No idea what the balance of your cards are but in the past when I get a larger card from say a Canon rebate I just use it. I buy Gas, Groceries, etc the things I buy most weeks. Then as the balance gets smaller I go to the website or call the number and write the balance on the front of the card. That way you can tell the clerk that there is $7.62 on the card, and zero it, and use the next card if you need. It's the only way I have found use up 100% of the card with Zero fees.
