It does make for a nice ip camera when paired with the ip Web cam app from the Google play store. The pictures are very sharp and clear, no real lag and the 'backup battery' that the phone offers is a welcome feature.

Feature wise, I've found you get more (indoors) out of a repurposed handset like this than a dedicated ip camera at the same price. (5mp vs 640x480 or 1 mp.)

Just make sure you set the screen to turn off in the software, and you're set. I have one in my garage and one to watch my driveway, and they've been great.

Good quality android toy, seriously, this can do a lot of things for just $26 dollars, except that you cannot activate with ringplis anymore. $10 verizon one is still the best deal though.

Can the verizon one be unlocked? Can we use that one for ringplus? TIA.

Is there a way to stop this phone from nagging me to update the software?
