nice basic monopod...paid $15 the other month for it..
Holds my D810 and Tamron 150-600 just fine

If you're getting into off camera flash, these are handy - put your flash and modifier on a monopod and have an assistant hold it...

Novice user here
Not to TC but wouldn't one with quick release similar to traditional tripods.... perhaps to transition between hand held, tripod,and monopod... be exponentially more valuable?

Those seem to start @ $13 on Amazon.

The major problem is when you have multiple proprietary quick release adapters on your equipment. It's generally a much better idea to stick to one quick release type for speed and efficiency. If, for example, I buy a Dolica monopod with included quick release adapter, but my tripod has a Manfrotto head, then that Dolica adapter does me no good switching from the tripod to the monopod.
