that's because the pricing on this specific unit is really stupid. newegg was selling the Corsair RM850x for $80 AR a month ago. a unit that is just as good but with way more output. and i bought an EVGA 750 P2 for just under $90 before, same price as the 650 G2 was selling for up until now.

Prices on PSU's are coming down now that CPU's and GPU's are getting so efficient. 98% of builds nowadays dont draw more than 300 watts on load.

crap just bought the rm650x last night for $10 more probably not worth the effort to return it. great PSU none the less highly recommend the P/G2 and Rmx series PSUs.
