2.5lb density memory foam is actually quite low. IMHO you shouldn't sleep on anything less than 4lb.

Anyone know of any real reviews on these? The only ones on Amazon are all paid for.

I assume that means that with this one, I will sink into the foam easier and it will not provide much support?

I wish there was something at these prices that could help at keeping you cooler during the night. The memory foam I have tried in the past seemed to hold and the heat and felt like it is ncreased the heat with 90+ degree nights.

I would think if you had a really hard bed this might help some but if your bed was overly soft it would create more of a problem.

I have had a memory foam topper for a couple of years (not this one), and I do not notice any issues with heat soak. I am very perceptive of anything that makes my sleep-time hotter, so I would definitely notice. But one thing is for sure, I would NEVER let my bedroom get anywhere near 90+ degrees without a total collapse of society and/or all infrastructure! Smilie

Put a mattress protector on it.

One wall of the bedroom has the heating/hot water pipes for the building and now that the trees that shaded the building have been removed due to plumbing problems it has full sun exposure for nine plus hours of the day.

Back on topic, from the sleep study center: "The main reason for a warm memory foam mattress is that the memory foam mattress is designed to keep you very close to the memory foam material, to give you maximum support and comfort. This results in that there is very little or no airflow around / under you and this makes you feel too warm." "We advise subjects to avoid meals four to six hours prior to participating in the study to reduce the bodies increase of temperature during digestion"

You won't notice much of a difference at 2" but if you already have a decent mattress and just want to soften up the top, then this would be fine. On a pull out mattress or futon, forget it.

I have a memory foam gel mattress and it's too soft. Been looking for a topper to firm it up a bit. So....this wouldn't help me, correct?
