Thanks. I didn't get to see this, yet, but for $14.99 (after the gift cards), I figured I might give it a chance. I'm sure the kids will like it. Hoping the price comes down before it's released, though. Do they lower the price on pre-orders? I was thinking they did, but that may only be in-store pre-orders.

Was going to post as well, was hoping they would have the 3D version up for pre-order.

TMNT editions are only showing 1 gift card still...

Sadly most Bluray buyers will buy the 2D, yet strangely a large number of them will shell out a few extra dollars to watch it in 3D in the theaters. If that weren't true, then there wouldn't be so many 3D movies in theaters. Why US consumers love 3D in the theaters but hate 3D in their homes is beyond my comprehension since home 3D looks almost as good as theater 3D with a good TV set apart from the obvious 2K vs. 4K difference and screen size.

I heard that Jungle Book 2016 is going to be yet another 3D movie that will only be released in 3D in foreign countries like the UK and Mexico where apparently more people are willing to buy 3D. It's only in the US where we strive for the lowest common denominator... 2D DVDs are the most popular judging by the movie selections at Target and Walmart.

So either buy the 2D for $15 after gift cards in the US or wait a year to buy the 3D for $20 to $25 from Amazon UK or Zavvi. At some point the foreign 3D will drop to $15 but not until after I buy the 3D for a higher price.

It's Disney is it coming out in 3d?

Edit: doesn't look like they are. Probably wait for Uk 3d version or buy used from Family Video or gohastings

3D in the home is no where near as good as the theater. For one, you really need to be fully immersed in the movie that the big screen gives. Unless you have a real home theater with a projection screen or a really big TV for the room size, it's not the same. Plus, viewing angles have always been a problem. And another, people don't want to be bothered with the glasses when they are relaxing at home. The theater is an experience. When watching movies at home, most people want to relax and not be burdened with sitting at the right angle and wearing the glasses. Then you actually have to buy the equipment. It takes buying a new TV and blu-ray player. Both of which most people had just recently bought when 3D started coming out. Not less extra glasses for everyone in the family. TV manufacturers have stopped making 3D TVs, as it wasn't doing as well for them, either. It's only a matter of time before 3D blu-ray goes away, as well.

That is sad because I'm happy with home 3D. I don't have a problem with viewing angles as much as 45 degrees on either side which works fine with my sofa arrangement. I find a 65" or greater size TV is sufficient with a good sound system. I'll take the comfort of my own home and its not quite as good 3D over more expensive theater 3D any day.

I don't suppose you know when the last 3D TVs are going to be made because I want to buy them when they go on clearance before they are gone forever?

It's bad enough to have to import some 3D Blurays from foreign countries, but the thought of having to import a 3D TV is even worse.

I have a 120" screen and a nice projector which gives amazing active 3d...I always shell out for 3d because the quality is amazing makes a movie look so much clearer.. basically it's 4k clear but with 3d... the clarity with 3d increases compared to watching a 2d version at home.. just my opinion because I usually run the 3d version against 2d to notice the difference in clarity and quality.

I wish this was 3d.. missed out going to theatre

I had no idea so many people loved 3D. It has always been a gimmick to me.
