Great deal on this kit.

FYI though. I picked this up last fall for around the same price. I used the impact 2 times before it stopped working in reverse. It would only work in forward, regardless of the switch position. Took it to Dewalt and it took them a couple of weeks to fix it. Here is the problem though... to replace the switch on these brushless models, the whole motor needs to be replaced. Not a big deal under warranty, but an expensive fix in subsequent years. Personally, I don't know if I would pay more for brushless in future tool purchases or not.

I own this set and have used it the last 5 months to remodel my house. Seriously they are amazing. Batteries last a very long time, and the only thing that seems to kill them is the reciprocating saw. I would buy them again at this price. I think I paid $234 from Lowes when I was able to get them to match Home Depots deal when you bought two Dewalt tools.

Likely 12v and definitely not brushless.

OMG brushless blasphemer! Seriously brushed motors have been around forever and are very reliable with no electronics to crap out. What usually gives out is the chuck or the gears or the switch not the motor. I tend to go more for durability than flash. There are obvious benefits to the new technology but for the average guy a brushed drill is all they really need and possibly more durable. Just my opinion.

I just ordered a similar combo (DCK296P2) over the weekend for $279, differences are a hard case and 2x 5.0Ah batteries... Are the higher capacity batteries worth the $50 premium, especially if I am going to get the blower in the near future?

The blower does tend to run the batteries down quicker. My 5Ah battery went dead, so I put in the 2Ah that I had. Didn't last very long at all! Not sure if 4Ah vs. 5Ah would matter too much. Probably 10-15 minutes.

I would say it's worth it for you, yes.
