The odds of getting a drive that has actually been refurbished is about zero. Unless they're brand new returns with minor easily fixable problems, its more expensive to repair and sell a drive than its worth.

What you're going to get is a used drive that according to prior reviews have passed a test and had their smart data wiped. While it'll look "new", the bad sector table also got wiped so I'd do an extensive write test on the drive to let it remap those.

What I'd actually do is buy a similar size new drive for about the same price while realizing it's going to last 3-5 years at a minimum.

Unless you specifically want an emlc drive with a low expectation for reliability and life span, used drives are a gamble. Calling them 'refurbished' is a lie.

Agreed with sklar. Also OCZ can suck a fat rod. I have been burned by OCZ enough times to never buy their products again. Specifically on SSDs I have been stung on too many rebates. Also SSDs that crap out in no time. I bought two PCI-E based SSDs a couple of years ago and under a decent load one crapped out in a matter of days. The other one with even less use lasted for a couple of months.
