This just price dropped to $379.99 on the Walmart website lol. Now it might qualify as a slickdeal but I have heard mixed reviews about this TV so be weary.

Anyone get a halo bloom/backlight effect on solid colors like grey?

This is what I'm wondering. I rolled the dice and bought it, though. Once I get it I'll do a good write up on my experience. The only reviews I've seen that mention the light bleed are in the slickdeals thread, so I'm hoping they're just isolated issues. I don't mind a little bit of light bleed, but pictured there it looks pretty bad.

Here's a link to the Black Friday thread that has a lot of good information if you're thinking about pulling the trigger. The majority of people seem to think it's a pretty damn good deal after some color adjustment.

For anyone weary about the brand, my father owns 3 Sceptre TV's. One had a power supply issue after 2 years and he had it fixed with the Walmart warranty, no issues 3 years later after that. The other 2 have been fine for 3 years with no issues.

I'd HIGHLY recommend buying the 3 year plan for $36. I've heard the warranty process through Sceptre is pretty awful. (You need to pay to ship it to them) But with the Walmart warranty they send you a prepaid shipping box. They had it fixed and back to my dad in a little over a week, which is pretty damn good IMO.

I'd almost guarantee that the failure rate on these is a lot higher than big name brands, but with the pricepoint and warranty option I'd say it's worth it.

People have also been saying they believe this might be a Sony or LG Panel, but I haven't seen any real evidence of that.

^^^ Appreiate the input, i can deal with the potential negatives, I am not a TV snob.

I went with it and got the warranty. I am actually purchasing this with a squaretrade buyout cash from my last tv that was fried.
ST was a bit of a pain this time; guess they have a new replacement dept and now policies/partners etc they didnt have before. Kinda ties my hands in options, so I requested a buyout after they couldnt offer a decent replacement and wouldn't agree to some TV links I sent.

I hope Walmart is better.

Thanks again

Now it's 359.99, Damn lost $20 since yesterday.

Think Walmart will refund me the difference or would I have to cancel and reorder?
