Another fun YMMV deal. My Target only had one in stock, happened to see the clearance sticker on it behind another phone.

T-Mobile HTC 626s [target.com] for reference.

DPCI - 080-15-0037

Brickseek. [brickseek.com] Zip 30135 for reference.

Snapdragon 410? A little too slow for this price. IMO

Could you kindly recommend a better phone that is within $100 with 720p screen that also has t-mobile wi-fi calling capability? (In case that's not clear, I am asking advice for real and not being rhetorical ). Your advice is appreciated! Smilie

with wifi calling I don't know, but I had a BLU Life One X for $100. I'd go for any used flagship device. LG G2, Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S4.. You can find these for $100 with a little patience.

If you really want 720p and tmobile wifi calling, then this is your best choice at this price.

With that said, you also are trading battery life and chipset. Reviews state that this phone has a 2 hour screen-on time and a Snapdragon 210 (which is rare because most budget phones I've seen that are cheaper at least have a Snapdragon 410 which uses Armv8 instead of the 210's Armv7).

Within $100 of this? The LG K10 - More Ram (1.5GB vs 1.0GB). Double internal memory (16GB vs 8GB). Better chipset. Larger battery (2300 mAh vs 2000). Newer version of Android (6.0.1 vs 5.1). Bigger screen in barely smaller body (5.3" vs 5.0").

edit: Aah, do you mean around $100? I took it as within $100 of this 626s price. Well, the K10 retails for $165. I would expect it to drop. But honestly, the only good thing about the 626s is the screen and TMO compatibility. It's a beautiful phone though.

I appreciate the thoughts and feedback. Indeed, I meant around $100 for the phone. The closest I can find is prepaid T-mobile Alcatel XL (Android) with 2GB/16GB/720p and Snapdragon 210, which works with wi-fi calling. Since all Walmart Family Mobile will work with T-mobile too, I also looked through Family Mobile's phones but didn't find anything.

I got this for $10 from MetroPCS with port-in. Mine is SIM locked hard to MetroPCS, but if you can hang in there for 3 months they will unlock it. I'm on the $30 plan (unlimited voice, 1GB data).

As the phone itself feels pretty good actually. Maybe it's because it was only $10 for me ($40 including first month bill). Yeah, Snapdragon 410 is slow but it's not too bad. It feels more responsive than the $30 Verizon Moto E LTE, and the camera is much better than the rest of the pack in $50 range. LG K7 was offered for free which I was considering, and that also has 1.5GB RAM for MetroPCS version. But bad experience with cheap LG phones kind of pushed me over to HTC 626S.

The battery lasts 10+ days on standby if you don't touch it, and it doesn't even have Doze function. I don't think these will ever get Marshmallow though.

Ya I was so lucky I found a used Lg G3 for $17 and I love it sooooo much. My first real phone because the rest are $10 cheap phones for running perk. I am getting a freedompop simcard and can't wait to be able to use a real phone. Also the G3 was on sale used for $100 like a couple days ago
