IMO $84.76 for a 480GB MLC SSD drive is a good deal. But it is even better if you are the new Jet customers or you are the existing Jet customers with the 15% discount code like me. If you buy 2 you will get $8.48 extra saving.

I bought 2 with the 15% discount code plus $10 cash back from AMEX when spent $50 or more on Jet.com plus $8.48 extra saving and make it $63.44 a drive with tax free and free shipping.

Good luck guys

Good price ,but the reviews look pretty bad for this drive.

Thanks anyway!

I didn't know anyone was still selling these old Sandforce SF-2281 drives.

This is basically equivalent to an OCZ agility 3 from around 2011ish. The Jet specs say sync nand but Visiontek says async.

Ok drive for its day. Poor with incompressible data. Lots of weird controller issues solved by some manufacturers and not so well by others. I don't see any firmware downloads for this so that's a big crapshoot.

I'd recommend the $99 trion 150 480GB from amazon.

I agree this drive is using the 5 years old controller. However, IMO 2 of 480GB SSD at the price $63.44/each is the great deal. I don't care how old is its technology, I bought it brand new and it is faster than the ordinary HDD then It should be good enough for most of the end users. I don't want to pay for what I don't really use. My OCZ Agility 3 120GB drive still runs strong after 5 years and i don't really experience any problem with the "Poor with incompressible data". Update firmware? not quite sure about it yet. Let wait until I get the drives, I still can return them free if I don't want to keep them

Go download their Jet.com Android app and get 20% Off 3 times using code: FATHERSDAY.

I just tested and it works.

This is the point. If you have a 5+ year old laptop with a half-decent CPU (i.e. no Celerons or Atoms) and 4GB or more of memory, you can breathe new life into it with Windows 10 and a cheap SSD like this. I have a 9 year old Macbook Pro with a 4GB of DDR2 memory, a 3.0Ghz Core 2 Duo and a cheap SSD that handles everyday tasks with ease. I wouldn't use it for video editing or serious gaming, but 90% of users would consider it fast.

The point was that this wasn't a very good drive 5 years ago when it debuted, and you can get a far better modern one for almost the same price.

This is like getting a great deal on a 70 year old hooker.

jet.com has flaky suppliers. I ordered this drive but received the 240GB version, but jet.com could only offer a refund because they do not do exchange.

Their prices are not always the lowest either. How is it going to compete?
