Product Description
The Lead Sled Solo is the newest addition to Caldwell's line of recoil reducing rests. A smooth pivoting elevation system is controlled with a single knob making adjustments onto target fast and precise. The heavy duty steel construction provides a stable and solid shooting platform. Its unique offset frame is designed to accommodate all rifles including detachable magazine rifles like the popular AR-15 platform as well as lever actions guns. The front support is height adjustable has a durable rubberized coating that will not scratch or mar your gun. The Lead Sled Solo has an integrated weight tray that will hold a single 25 pound bag of shot. The combination of the weight and a heavy duty spring between the frame members all but eliminates recoil on non-magnum calibers and greatly reduces recoil on all calibers. A welded steel brace covered with a durable rubber boot secures the butt of the gun while protecting it from abrasions. A strap integrated into the front support can be used to easily secure your rifle onto the rest.

The latest addition to Caldwell's line of recoil-reducing rests, the Lead Sled Solo provides a fraction of the recoil while securely holding your gun on target.

The Lead Sled Solo greatly reduces recoil while holding your gun on target.
The Lead Sled Solo features a smooth pivoting elevation system that's controlled by a single knob, making target adjustments fast and precise. The unit is well built, with a heavy-duty steel construction that provides a stable, solid shooting platform. And shooters will love the Lead Sled Solo's unique offset frame, which is designed to accommodate all rifles, including detachable magazine rifles such as the popular AR-15 platform as well as lever action guns. The front support is also height-adjustable, with a durable rubberized coating that won't scratch or mar your gun.

The secret to the Lead Sled Solo's effectiveness is its integrated weight tray, which holds a single 25-pound bag of shot. The combination of the weight and the heavy-duty spring--which is located between the frame members--all but eliminates recoil on non-magnum calibers and greatly reduces recoil on all calibers. To attach the rifle, simply use the welded steel brace to secure the butt of the gun and the integrated front strap to secure the rifle to the rest. The steel brace includes a durable rubber boot to protect your rifle from abrasions.

Yes, but with the lead sled, you can add weight to keep it from moving as much.

That one you posted would be good for a 22LR, but not much else.

Also the one you posted has no stock rest.

Stability. For shooting out to 300 m I think that sandbags or a decent bipod are fine (heck iron sights are fine). But if you're going to do competition shooting with a scope out past that, something that really locks in the rifle and allows you to make minute sight adjustments is very helpful. Also if you're teaching someone to shoot who is inexperienced it's a decent place to start them off so they can get a feel for the rifle.
