Good price for the 4GB version, my only gripe would be the single-fan cooler.

Not a good deal with the RX480 for $200~ on its way in less than two weeks. GTX 980 performance for $50~ more is worth the wait.

Yes but I'd take this for $150 with no rebate attached. There are some reasons why people need Nvidia over AMD for reasons other than gaming. CUDA, Linux, better for slow CPUs and the driver support are 4 reasons though I'm sure there are more that don't apply to me.

What? My R9 290 is still overkill for my 1080p monitor. Not everyone has to get a uber high end GPU.

Warning: It's kinda loud at idle. The blower designs from Asus have a minimum fan speed of 30%. :< I can't sleep with my computer on since I'm in a dorm and pretty sensitive to whirring noises.

You may have to invest in a better case.

This. Unless you cant wait, I wouldn't bother getting a card till the rx480 is out. Even if you don't want AMD, I'd expect prices of all cards (new and used) to drop.

GPU gurus, is this a good deal? A couple of things make me hesitate. 1. RX480 pretty much equals a GTX 980 for $50 bucks more MSRP without any discounts. 2. GTX 950 just sold at $100 AR, performs 15% slower [techreport.com] (by average FPS) but costs 33% lower.

I'm feeling this should really be around 125 AR or so, and from my 10 minutes of research, it doesn't look like a really good value at the moment.

Any word on how well it will handle VR? 4K?

The 950 is a hobbled 960. The performance difference is greater than 15%. More like 30%.

4GB is of dubious value on a 960. Only demanding games would use more than 2GB and for those games you really wouldn't want to run them on a 960. There was a 960 2GB for $135AR recently. There will be more deals to come like that. I think the extra money is worth it for the 960.

This particular 960 has a poor cooling system as others have noted. It's pretty much the lowest end 4GB 960.

OK. I didn't spend that much time looking but the one aggregate benchmark I saw was 15% for average FPS. If you have a link for another result can you post it? Thx.
