Update: Appears to work best w/ the new no contract 'Verizon Plan' w/ device payment options . YMMV for older plan types

Verizon Wireless

32GB Motorola Droid Turbo 4G LTE Smartphone (Ballistic Nylon)

Requirements:
  • Verizon Wireless postpaid service plan (new customer activations or existing customers adding a new line only. Not eligible on upgrades)
  • Initial set up via monthly payment installments
Instructions:
  1. Click here [verizonwireless.com], add to cart via monthly payment option
    • promo code will not work w/ Retail Price option
  2. Select new or existing customer (add a line, only)
  3. Continue through prompts, customizing/selecting your service plan, etc.
  4. On Shopping Cart page, apply promo code VZWDEAL
  5. Your price for the device should be $199.99 - $100 off w/ promo code = $99.99 (or $4.16/mo. for 24-months)
Notes:
- You may simply pay off the $99.99 balance in full at any time once your first bill arrives.
- The new Verizon plans are no contract (cancel any time w/ no early termination fees. Simply pay any remaining balance on account/device, if applicable).
- Example: $99.99 for phone + base plan @ $50/month for first month = $149.99 (+ tax).

Specs
  • 5.2" 2560x1440 Quad HD AMOLED display
  • 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Quad-Core CPU
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB Internal Storage
  • 20.7MP rear + 2MP front facing cameras
  • 3900mAh battery

Alternatively:

Note: Promo code VZWDEAL ($100 off discount) cannot be stacked w/ rebate offer

Verizon offers Buy One, Get One 'Free' after $240 rebate on this device
  • Add two Droid Turbos to your account via monthly Device Payment Plans (new or existing customers, upgrade or add a line). At least one line must be a new add on
  • Receive $240 rebate (to reimburse for the price of one Droid Turbo) in 8 to 10 weeks of rebate submission (visit yourdigitalrebatecenter.com/ and use promo code VZ-DROIDT1)
  • Note: Lines must remain active for 6-months
Basically, pay for both phones out of pocket via monthly payments (+ whatever service costs you choose), get a rebate for the full price of one phone

Scroll down to 'Get two Droid Turbo for one great price.' and click 'Find out how' for further details. ~RevOne

It won't let me do DPP since I am still under contract. I would have to set up a second entire phone plan to get them at this price, and probably not worth the trouble. At $100 each, I would upgrade 3 phones on my plan, the $200 each seems less ideal (although still a great deal).

I may be wrong, but regarding the Buy One Get One, I think one line needs to be a new one, and they need to remain active for 6 mos.

Rebate is no good because it has 6month clause...this deal however, seems like a good deal

Any idea on if the bootloader can be unlocked?

Quick scan of XDA looks like it's possible if it's on an older software version. Do they make sure it's updated out of the box, or is there a good chance it's still on an old version?

Is it possible to replicate in store? Then I could verify the software version before I bite.

Correct. Unless you are eligible for an early upgrade, you cannot do DPP if you are still on contract.

Yes, if you pay for Sunshine $25. But confirm on this thread if there are any limitations.

The answer is yes, it can be with Sunshine ($25), although you may be better off with other phones over this. Odds are you will be fine because the update that killed Sunshine came out only a month ago, and they don't bother opening these to update them (once you activate it will start nagging you immediately about updates).
