Hey guys,

I didn't see this posted, so I thought I'd share. The Tiger Rice Cooker was a previous +47 FP Deal a few weeks ago!

I might trust their reviews on other cookwares. But for the definition of "perfect rice" from AMERICAN test kitchen?wave

Good deal on the Japanese rice cooker.

Wonder how these compare with the Korean stone pot electric rice cookers. Those are even pricier, at 250 to 500 dollars depending on features.

Bought this last time and it's not much better than my $10 swap meet rice cooker. May be too late for returning to newegg.

Completely agree.
Nowadays almost any kitchen appliance claims to cook rice, it's hard to justify paid such a price

Does this have an option to make GABA brown rice?

I bought the smaller version of the Zojirushi rice cooker with similar functions and its quite silly to compare this to your $25 rice cookers. This has a timer, I can come home to freshly cooked white rice, brown rice, rice gruel or even steel cut oatmeal. I have also cooked rice mixed with beans. Haven't tried cooking a cake in it though. I used to have to cook brown rice and oatmeal by hand. So I say if you wish to come home and have ready anything other than plain white rice which you have to reheat in a microwave, I think you will be pleased with this appliance.

American Test Kitchen did a review on rice cookers recently and actually recommends an inexpensive model by Aroma that makes perfect rice each time. Aroma Housewares ARC-914SBD Digital Cool-Touch Rice Cooker and Food Steamer with Stainless Steel Exterior, Silver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007WQ9...BxbA8B1V0G

BOOM! I just saved you $140.

I'll agree with this recommendation. I've used lots of brands and currently have both the aroma (from Costco) and the Panasonic other with the micro computer cooking thingy (need to have this technology for the best rice!!!! the $30 aroma does as well as the $100 Panasonic
