looks same but 50 cheaper. I just don't like v-plex. I found I like dead-hold bdc more. are I alone?

Pictures are different. There's a second knob on the back of the Cabela's one. Can't really tell you much more as driving at the moment.

cabelas isn't the best matching pics and descriptions. Just had to ask on the site about a midwest industries handguard for confirmation.

It's not. The Cabela's one is the diamondback which is their budget one. Decent at this price as they're aren't many comparable under $175.

Both threads, deals, and scopes are for the Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 AO with V-Plex reticle. This thread also includes the 4-12x50 AO.

Neither is for the Diamondback. I saw that Toccoamostrickytick is viewing on mobile so that may be where the descrepancy lies.

The Corssfire II falls below the Diamondback in Vortex's scope hierchy.

I mainly made this thread, because the other is just ridiculous. Not sure how it got so many upvotes when these prices are available.

thanks. voted up this one! so this is actually lower than the diamondback in their whole offering. but is it a good entry level scope? I mean with active junky and gift card etc the 40 one will be around $90 only.

Very true and good catch.
I don't know where I saw Diamondback now but the main reason I thought they were different models was that the Cabela's page didn't list the model at all. Switched the browser to desktop mode and see they are the same model.

I recently bought their Diamondback scope in the 4x12 as I loved the clarity in the store as I was putting it on a Savage .17 rifle ( no need to dress up a Savage rifle in a cartridge that's only good for 250 yards).

However, getting it to the range was a different story as I could not get the reticle focused to my liking. Now this could very well be my eyes as it was the last rifle of the day but I've never had the issue before with any scope in having having a blurry reticle.
It was just about as blurry at low and high magnification.
