Lowes is back with the $2.00 mulch deal through 6/29
Can be an even sweeter deal with one of the online discount codes

I have used this mulch for several years and am always satisfied for the price

The chunks are a little larger than better mulches...but it does hold color very well
The price come out to be less expensive than any bulk mulch deal I have seen..especially when the online codes are used
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Garbage... I've posted my review on Lowe's page with pictures:

I have trimmed many of the lower branches of two large evergreens this year and I wanted to place some mulch underneath so that my boys can play under without getting dirty with the regular ground. I purchased 20-bags for both trees, but underestimated that one tree really needed all 20-bags, while the other was left mulch-less. I spread all 20-bags on the first tree and the all except 2 bags were of decent quality. Large chunks, but it looked like mulch. 2 bags came out to be almost pure white with mold covering all of them. I reached out to Lowes customer service who immediately contacted the store where I purchased them, and within a few days got a call back from the local Lowes store manager who offered refund or replacement bags. In the meantime, Home Depot had their sale of Scott's mulch for the same $2/bag price. And after purchasing 10-bags for the second tree, I immediately saw better quality (smaller chunks) compare to the initial 20-bags from Lowes. A week later, I picked up my replacement 2 bags. I don't know if simply had bad luck, but these replacement 2 bags were garbage. I have found: • Much large chunks of wood compared to the earlier 20 bags I've purchased • Contained rocks. Yes, palm sized rocks. • Tree branches that still had the overall diameter and some length • Wood backing found in 60's basement • Building material, some piece of wood with scare cut • Piece of blue painted wood Honestly, I would have not bothered reviewing since I got great customer service from Lowes, but these replacement bags really placed Lowes quality of mulch in a bad light. I will never buy from here again and instead go to Home Depot with their Scott's bags Lowes, if you are reading this, please have your supplier quality teams investigate your mulch vendor, as at this rate you may end up giving your $2.00 on sale mulch a bad rep.
The mulch last year was really crappy. Huge pieces and the color was uneven. I am on my 50th bag this year and the quality is much much better; the color is much more uniform and the pieces are more finely ground. At this price point you really can't go wrong.

Anyone used the order online for bagged mulch? Do they set aside 25 bags just for me? 25 @ $2 - $15 online only = $1.40/bag! Won't find anything slicker than that.

Yes when you order online they will pull the items for you. I order 2x6 boards online and they have them ready but I have to trade them out because they pick bad ones sometimes. I keep my orders to $50 so I can get the most benefit of the coupon codes.

I can't believe buying in bulk isn't cheaper at that size. It takes 13.5 bags for a cubic yard. I guess it is probably close either way

I have, but last time they didn't have it set aside for me. A bit frustrating because they were busy so I wound up standing around for 20 minutes. I could have just loaded up my own.
