It has a low and high beam. So 500 lumens is the high beam. 500 lumens is actually not that bright though.

Agreed. There are Fenix lights that are much more portable that go as high as 900+ lumens, as well as other brands.

Correct. This is intended for light use. I wouldn't take this camping or in super dark areas. I bought this as a storm flashlight in case power goes out. I dont need to let the entire neighborhood know there is a second Sun in our solar system in my backyard. Wink
