Not quite "Free Games," but $50 credits on both games. Better than the previous 14-day trial for World of Warships coupon, they were handing out.

Also, it's the 90W version, not the newer 75W version. Still a good deal, but the new AMD cards are coming out in less than a week!

I'm gonna get one anyway. AMD new line is coming out but GTX 950 has such a sweet performance for the price and you don't have to wait another 3-4-5 weeks/month for new cards to get in stock

Might want to double check that you have a PCI-Express slot

This is probably the safest price point for now. The $200 price point is the target for AMD's new high end so investments in cards in that range today are likely to be quickly made obsolescent. Though there have been other models announced. I haven't seen any declared MSRP. Although any $50-100 card today will likely have relatively poor performance per dollar upon this year's later releases there's no indication that current model cards will see significant discounting until next year (happy new year?).

Good luck!

Jon

As I understand there will a large quantity available on launch day and that supply
is strong but their only rumors till launch day happens.

The price competition should be good for us All but I'm waiting till after the NDA's drop
before committing my money to anything...

Unless you have a specific game or goal in mind (e.g. - improving system power efficiency) the relative strength of your current setup recommends staying put until the next generation of AMD low cost cards creates value if not at least downward pressure to the rest of the market.

The card on this listing is technically an upgrade from your current setup, but not necessarily as big as justified by the $100 investment. By contrast the next generation of AMD cards should offer amazing price/performance at their various tiers ($200 and less) or should at least drive down other prices (just look at where the old HD 6950 or GTX 560 sit in the value space today).

Good luck!

Anyone happen to know if this would work in a Dell Xps 8700? It has onboard graphics atm so considering this for a cheap upgrade until I get a new one built.

Thanks!

Step one:
take side panel off
Step two:
look to see if there is a full length PCIE slot open
Step three:
profit

In addition to the PCIe slot as other people have mentioned (which your XPS8700 almost certainly has) I would also check to make sure you have a power supply that can provide enough power (at least 500W, preferably more)

Close. While this card does come with a 6-pin PCI-E to Molex adaptor, you need to check the power supply for compatibility. Being that it's the 90W version, I would recommend at least a 500W PSU (400W on a good quality, $80?). OEMs in general only put basic 300-450W power supply's that typically don't have enough amps on the 12v rail. They're enough to run the system as-is.
