mine arrived and the screen looks great, and the laptop was in excellent physical condition. but out of the box, my cpu is maxing out when I try to play a 4k video. i was skeptical how well the dual core would handle 4k video.

also, the hdd was maxing on read/write during video playback. this weekend I plan to install a ssd with a clean OS and see how it runs with the most up to date drivers.

also, the hdd was making light clicking noises. it passed the onboard Dell diagnostics, but that could be the source of the problem.

The HD graphics 520 supports hardware decoding, you shouldn't see any significant impact on your CPU usage while playing supported 4K files.

Make sure the 4K source is something the HD 520 can decode and make sure "hardware decoding" is turned on and not "software decoding".

thanks, I will look into that after the ssd upgrade. for the video source, i used this site:
http://www.h3xed.com/blogmedia/youtube-info.php

to download this video:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iNJdPyoqt8U

selecting the first result. i left my charger at the office, so I couldn't try many other sources.

Yeah I dont think some weird mess like that is gonna cut it.

Youtube videos arent the best for 4K stuff anyway. its probably compressed all to hell.

What kind of battery life can you get out this, assuming you don't constantly hit 4K content?

People giving TD, it would be great if you let us know the reason.
I missed the deal earlier this week and ordered today.

If its cheaper, let us know we will buy it there instead of Best buy.
If you have gotten this earlier and didnt like it, let us know, so we cancel the order.
A "other" reason doesnt help/

This specs is comparable to MacBook Pro, I mean specs only because it's easy to upgrade RAM and SSD. CPU and Screen is similar, With about 500 bucks less.
