"If you go to the Gigabyte site and lookup CPU support, you will find that it supports all 1151 processors from Celeron thru E3.

The chipset is a C232 and that is why it supports the E3 CPU's. Appears to not support ECC memory, has no on board video support, and no 16GB memory modules.

Kind of an oddball "

Hmmm,

"Supports the Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 processor and 6th Gen. Intel Core i3/ Pentium/ Celeron Processor"

No support for i5 or i7's? That's not good.

Just a heads up: this is a C232 Motherboard, and not a Z170 chipset motherboard, so you can't use this for overclocking an i5 or i7-6700K.

Haha yeah, honestly, that is kinda weird. I don't like that. Here are the connectors it has.

If I'm not mistaken this [newegg.com] is the same motherboard and again no support for i5/i7 (besides having bad reviews).

I think I'll wait and pay $30-$40 more for onboard video and overclocking i5/i7's. I guess it's a good price if you don't need/want those options.

Well, the idea is to throw a Xeon in there cheap. Xeon is cheaper than an i5 but its pretty much the same as an i7.

Don't care about onboard video, don't care about ECC, and could live without overclocking capability for now, what would be a near equivalent to i7-6700k in Xeon terms for gaming performance?
