Oh, I wouldn't say that. I've been reading earphone reviews for half a day. It seems the only ones that get 4+ stars are ones > $300 or ones < $50 which people get free for "honest reviews".

They are also on clearance at Best Buy B&M or their ebay store for the same price.

I haven't read the Amazon reviews, but I suspect they are due to buyers unknowlingly receiving counterfeit headphones from third party sellers.

I had this on my wishlist for about a year in 2015. Finally caved and bought it at full price around Nov/Dec. At that price I still think it's worth it. With the half off discount right now it becomes a no-brainer. Anyone looking to upgrade headphones from cheapo iPhone ear buds should give these a try.

I have this, imo it is worth $50 - $80, good sound, not great, needs an amp to fully enjoy.

Looks like a good deal but I'm coming from a zero ear carbo tenore so I feel I might not notice much of a distance. Recently lost my Tenores so I might rebuy them along with some Xiami Piston 3's because those are the best souding IEM's under $50. Can anyone compare these Sony headphones with the 2 value-powerhouses I just listed? I feel as if I'm going to set myself up for an expensive disappointment with the H1's.

Can't compare but I recently bought the Xiaomi Piston 3s for $20 on Amazon. Best headphones I've ever had. That's not really saying much when the most I've ever spent on headphones in the past is $60 on a highly-rated Philips pair.

Anyone here have the Sony-MDR-XB90EX's that Amazon list in comparison? Those seem to have better reviews, and less than a $10 difference in price.

For IEM reviews Jokers running list on head-fi is unmatched. If in the market for IEMs always refer to him...

Unfortunately he doesn't have a review on these headphones and there are gaps. I believe he gets free headphones from companies in order to review them so if the company isn't interested there is a gap. The Carbo Tenores for example were rated among the best for under $50 on head-fi and other sites but joker has no review.

Anyways, this seems like a decent deal because they are the cheapest hybrid. At the very least, they will sound unique because of the dual-driver setup.

Yea I noticed that but nonetheless his reviews are thorough detailed and keep things on par since you don't have multiple people with different subjective preferences reviewing different products differently. In Jokers case, he has been a cornerstone at head-fi for a long time because he doesn't sell out and write good reviews for free products. A little birdie on the forums also told me that he doesn't review some IEMs due to a conflict of interest where the forum has received funds from a company and he doesn't want to spoil relations with companies if he doesn't like their products. Which also makes me hesitant to consider any products he has not reviewed
