Anyone know the reputation of ibuypower, I've read some mixed reviews online. I'm nervous ordering from them since I've read the reviews.

If you live in California, you can pickup from their location in City of Industry. As with any retailer, you're gonna have both good and bad reviews.

Been following these MSI deals for a few weeks now. Finally pulled the trigger, and here's why:

Add 8gb ram for 16gb total.
Add Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SSD (you now have two SSDs - you're welcome).

Price at checkout: $1093.95.
That's +8gb ram and +128gb SSD for an additional $2.40. That sounds slick to me.

I got it on the GE62 w/ 970m. Could probably get the same deal on the GE72 since they are the same price.

Does anyone know if the ge62 here is the same as the Apache pro that other retailers are selling for $1099? Is there a difference between the Apache and Apache pro?

From what I've seen the GE62s sold by other retailers are comparable to the $899 version on ibuypower, except the hard drives tend to change on ibuypower depending on the day or your configuration. However, if you want the same machine as the retailers, just change it to a 1TB platter drive.

The GE62 that's going for $1090 on ibuypower has the 970m, a much improved graphics processor over the 960m.

I bought a GE72 on 6/14 and it arrived yesterday (6/24). So far, I've been busy installing software, etc, so I don't have much to report other than I ran a Firestrike test to see how it stacks up to my current desktop (an HP 750se) and my previous laptops. Obviously, if you don't mind waiting, the new Nvidia/AMD cards will be hitting laptops sometime this year (I assume), but I think we're several months away from seeing them available.

Firestrike results (for comparison):
GE72 laptop with i7-6700HQ, 16GB RAM, Sandisk M.2 SSD (500GB), 970M = 6491
HP 750SE desktop with i7-6700, 16GB RAM, Samsung SSD 850 Evo, 980ti = 13927
Lenovo Y70-70 laptop with i7-4720HQ, 16GB RAM, Samsung SSD, 860M =3692
Lenovo Y500p laptop with i7-4700MQ, 16GB RAM, Samsung SSD 840 Evo, 750Mx2 = 3466

One thing I like about the GE72 is it exhausts heat out the back, rather than the sides (like the Y500p). I liked my Y70-70, but after numerous disastrous on-site repairs for a failing screen, I ended up sending it back to Lenovo for a full refund and used that money to buy the GE72.
