But it is DDR3 instead of DDR4 memory (which could come with a 6th Gen), also 6th gen is supposed to be much more efficient for power consumption - not sure how much of a difference that would make, just food for thought Smilie

The Asus page says that it has thunderbolt, but it doesn't say which version -- I think that anything short of Thunderbolt 3 wouldn't have enough bandwidth for a for a higher-end external GPU setup

I'd be hesitant in buying a gaming laptop from Amazon warehouse. Does not come with manufacturer warranty instead just a 30 day return policy from Amazon.

I would rather wait a few months until the 1080m is announced and released, which will bring this puppy down a couple hundred at least. If you simply can't wait, then this is a good deal for now to get a 980m laptop.

Couple important points if someone is interested in buying this notebook:

1. This one has a 128GB SSD.
2. It DOESN'T have GSYNC. STOP HERE. There's another model that was later released with GSYNC. This one was released in the early 2014 and I'd suggest investing a couple more for that GSYNC equipped one. It makes day and night difference in games and bumps up the panel to 75 Hz.

I got an ASUS ROG w/ 960M as a great deal 6+ months ago from Amazon Warehouse. Practically new, works great.
