need help buying a laser printer

umaga 41 10 June 25, 2016 at 11:01 AM
Hi, I just relocate to another state for job training and I am looking for a laser printer to replace my inkjet one. I do not think I will be printing a lot (maybe 50 pages a week max), and the printing quality does not have to be top-notched. I am looking for a laser printer that does not cost a lot in term of buying replacement toner and/or other replaceable accessories (sorry I do not know much about laser printer, always have had inkjet- i know some require drums, imaging units etc etc though I have no ideas what they do).

I read several comments here and it looks like brother has the cheapest off-brand toners. However, don't you need to buy drums also for a brother printer? The other question that I have is I would like to connect to the printer wirelessly, however, right now I am using an xfinity hotspot so I guess a printer that uses wifi will not help. I think the only other solution is to use a bluetooth adapter. I was wondering if the printer itself must have some built-in bluetooth function or any printer would work with an adapter (I am using a macbook in case it matters).

Thank you so much for reading my question. Have a blessed day everyone!

What price range are you looking at?
Awhile back we got a HP 452dw and I will say this is a smokin printer multi
The price was way to high when I first started looking and I was following it on amazon. I linked in to a used like new machine and though I'd do an experiment and give it a try.
I used the like new in original packaging. It said something like container has like 5% damage.
That's how they can get around selling new at a super discount.
Any way it appeared to have never been out of the eps packaging an I did a check on the print count in the software and it had never run one page.
So that's a choice for you to take a look at. Ink on that could be crazy since it's a pretty new model but I just ordered up ink and at 160 for cf410x full set of 4 I can live with that. And if you know the x it's alot of printing 5000 over the A 2000 or less.
Good wireless not sure about blue tooth on that printer.
And look at this you could do this with your hot spot setup if you use this"AirPrint: Print from your Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to your HP printer."
2day ship and no tx came in at 230$
And last -it is big but it is fast.

Based on your needs, ink printer maybe better than laser one.
