NVIDIA is again offering a limited time deal to get a 2nd free controller on the Shield console. This is typically around a $50 add-on.

This offer looks to be available directly from nvidia or through reseller partners, Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, etc.

there is a "console" - shield android tv, and a tablet - shield tablet.

Not a "tablet", more like a "slate" or a "pad".

It's a console. Says so in the title. The tablet and 2 controllers would be a heck of a slick deal at $200.

So I found this in store at BB yesterday... it included the shield w/controller and remote and then an additional controller all for $199. Of course, I bought it. I kind of wish I bought the other one on the shelf too.

I think I would get this if it also has the remote. Been on the fence on this for a while. Mainly interested in 4K streaming of of games and emulators as well as Xbmc

I bought one the last deal I saw posted. It's the best XBMC/Kodi box I've set up yet, and I've tried them all. Plays all the 4K video files I've tried so far (MKV, MOV, MP4) with no issues.

I use SPMC instead of Kodi (available in the store for free also) on this device because the base version of Kodi kept losing all my skin settings and reverting to stock for some reason. No such issue with the SPMC fork, uses all the same skins and addons so it's basically the same.

I got the box and 2 controller deal, no remote with mine. I have 2 FireTV's and 2 FireTV sticks so I just use one of the FIreTV stick remote which works great with the Shield TV.

I popped in a cheap Logitech USB camera I had in my junk drawer and it was immediately recognized, the built in mic works perfectly to allow voice searching.

I have a bunch of games installed but don't really find myself playing them. I don't really care about the controllers but added value is added value, I suppose I could sell the extra 2 on eBay or something.

The only thing you're really missing on this is a native Amazon Prime Video app, there are workaround apps which do work but I don't think you get 4K though.

Highly recommended. I may pick up another of these for the bedroom.

Bought one last week from bestbuy online and it shipped with remote package and got the extra controller. Now going to wait and hope that bestbuy drops the price within 30 days and do a price match with discover.

Hey thank you for commenting on this! I have a Fire TV and the Stick, Roku 3, Apple TV 3 and even a gen 1 Chromecast. All great devices but always seemed lacking. Plus I always had to do "workarounds" on the Fire TV's to get various apps to work. I like that the Shield has Kodi & other apps right in the Play store already. Also, thanks for the tip on using the Fire TV Stick remote wit the Shield. I never even considered this would be an option. How did you get it to pair?

I am looking for a box to use in my sun porch for the summer. I was going to just get the wireless box from DirecTV but they want me to sign a new contract to get it installed. I won't sign any more contracts with them or anyone. The Shield just might be the box I was looking for!!!! Thanks!!!
