Very nice. Been waiting for the Reds to go on sale to fill up my NAS (which I also got on sale from Frys hehe).

I'll try again to get Newegg to PM the 3TB Red.

The last rep said no because the picture and model #s were different. I explained a hundred times that its OEM vs Retail packaging, but he couldn't comprehend and his "supervisor" said they weren't the same.

Oh well, this is a good price and I have multiple accounts so I can at least get 2 from Frys tomorrow if nothing else.

another couple of years and spinning media will either drop in price or be replaced by SSD, it's getting closer every release cycle

nothing great there, frys usually has 1 random definitive day each week that the deals are at least above average or great. Clearly thats not gonna be tomorrow...

newegg recently had the netgear GS108, 8 port, no rebate/strait up for $17 (and limit was 2)

no 500GB SSD is worth paying over $100-$130 for, give or take. plenty of solid options for much less. unless u have to have this one for whatever reason..

i bought that same cpu for $160-ish around NYE on newegg. microcenter prob always has same or better pricing and on the newer / current models too

$79 toshiba P300 3TB 7200RPM Drive last week at frys kills this deal. I prefer it over the Reds even if price was equal. reds are much slower and not worth the "nas" premium. maybe vs another cheaper desktop WD drive, but the toshibas are rock solid in RAID / NAS/ SERVERS

and the 4tb 7200rpm for $99 the week before

and 5TB X300 7200rpm / 128MB cache for $129 the week before that.

and the QTY 1 per household sucks on pretty much all frys deals but I'll do the extra work to get in for more when necessary / worth it.

Was the 4 TB 7200 rpm on slickdeals? I've been looking for a good deal on a 7200 rpm drive but so far haven't found anything under $30 per terabyte here, unless I haven't been paying attention, which I think I have.

Most of the drives I've seen are NAS, some at 7200 rpm, others at Intellipower or 5400 rpm, but they've been $30+ per terabyte. I'm probably going to have the drive running 24/7 in this first build that I'm doing, and it's going to be constantly uploading or downloading data, or both, but I don't know if paying the premium for the NAS storage is worth it.
He might be talking about this:

4TB HGST Coolspin HDD $99

In fact, it looks like Frys has had that same 4tb HGST Coolspin for $89 too.
