The traps that run on propane work. Mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide like you exhale. The small flame makes this and traps the bugs.

You can make your own attractant that emits the C02 simply by using sugar, yeast, and water; place it in a plastic container with holes drilled on top. Put the zapper on top of the container, and you'll have killed mosquitos by the hundreds the next day. I currently use the Flowtron, which utilizes UV light. Smilie

Doesn't this also lure in more mosquitos from surrounding areas though?

Hi there,

Can you please provide more info on this? If possible amounts/ratios and pictures?

Also, are you saying you're using this now and it works?

Thanks! Really struggling with mosquitos right now.

This unit is surprisingly small. Only about 8" high without the metal hanging handle.

The problem with bug zappers is that 99% of the bugs they kill aren't nuisance bugs.
Zappers only effective use is to attract bugs away from heavily trafficked entryways- so they aren't trying to get inside every time the doors open.

He's basically brewing beer. The yeast convert the sugars to alcohol, and they fart CO2.
Don't drink the product though, not because it's dangerous, but because it will taste awful.
