These things are junk compared to a real dehumidifier. They can't get a large surface area cold enough to condense water on, so you end up with those hilariously small 8 or 20oz of water per day removal rates.

You also need the room to be a swamp to actually draw humidity out, since the peltier chip won't get cold enough in the first place to hit the dew point in a more "modest" room. A refrigeration based dehumidifier on the other hand will do just that and let you draw water out of the air into nearly uncomfortable ranges.

I bought one last summer to put in my bathroom. Summer in New England is quite humid. Helped keep down toilet condensation a little bit, but not very impressed overall. If I knew what I know now, I wouldn't buy this.

I use this to help dry out towels in a small guest bathroom without a fan. Does the job great and is discreet enough to not be a bother, but I'm in a warm dry climate and run hvac all year so humidity inside the whole house is usually at 30-45%.

This thing would struggle in a small bathroom anywhere it's humid.
