$299.99

Thread Details

Hi! This seems to be a better deal than the BOGO buy one get one offer!

$299.99 for the Samsung S7 edge 32GB when you have a 2 year plan.

What do you think?

See the promo ad I attached.

I'm not seeing the deal here. That is the normal two-year contract renewal price.

Even with a $200 gift card how is this a deal 0.o.

BOGO on the S7 was two phones for like 7-800. This is a phone for 100 (299-200 GC) plus a 2 year contract, you could break it for a $350 ETF making the net cost around 450-500 for the phone itself.

So... I have to pay extra $25 a month for 2 years, and pay $300? You're crazy.

I'm a Newbie so be gentle. Well, I have an AT&T account for 8 years now, I'm on a family plan and I'm paying $55-60/month on unlimited internet data and call, this includes a Mobile phone insurance too.

My 2 year contract expired last year. What's the best way to maximize getting a deal? Buy using AT&T Next? can't do BOGO since I don't know anyone looking for a postpaid line.

Hi tspx23,
I don't understand the math with BOGO for S7. $800 for 2 phones, so it's $400 each and which store offers $200 GC? Then do you mean I should cancel the second line and pay $350 ETF, so it still going to be $400 + $350 on the second phone for the cost? (I saved $400 on my phone though).

I think for his case, doing the 2 year contract, there is no monthly equipment fees, just flat $300. He is locking himself into a contract, this is pretty much how its always worked before installment plans became common.

Hi DenverG3125,

Thanks for the comment. I was computing it that AT&T saying I save $20 per month if I cancel my unlimited data plan. So that is like $20 x 24 months (2 year contract) = $480.

Phone S7 Edge $299.99 + $480 (presumed savings on not being on unlimited data) = $779.99

I don't think cancelling my unlimited data would work since I use up a lot of data and it costs $10 per 1 GB extra.

Appreciate your inputs if this is a good for me and those that have grandfathered plans.

Well, in your case, if you want a new phone early every years when it just releases and don't want to spend time dealing with rebate, customer service... ; I think you just renew the contract and get the new phone for 60/month.

If you willing accept smaller T-mobile coverage and like many people in this forum: buy phone up front (with or without contract), do rebate or have MVNO network...
There's many better way to do than paying 60 a month.

At least for AT&T, their currently marketed plans do not include the cost of a phone subsidy, but the final set of subsidized plans allowed for a user to either pay full price and get a subsidized phone, or get a $25/month discount and either pay full price for a phone or BYOD. That may be what that person is referring to. Since this deal - at least re. the $200 gift card that you claim is what makes this a "deal", as described in your posted image - only works for Verizon, and then only with the device payment plan that renders the whole "$299" aspect void, really we are all just wasting time here.

The point of the BoGo deal is/was that there is no ETF. By buying the phone at MSRP, there is neither a mandatory service contract with the carrier, or a lease/loan agreement to pay off the phone, like there is with most phone purchases from the major carriers.

Also, please take a moment to read the fine print in your own posted image. Particularly the parts that read "2yr not available on AT&T" and "$200 Target gift card with activation of a new line of service on a VERIZON DEVICE PAYMENT PLAN."
