Certified Pre-Owned.
Must add $19.99 (at least) first month. NOT free trial.

If you intend to use it on the FreedomPop free plans, after activation and while logged in to your FreedomPop account, click these links and follow the prompts to downgrade your plan/service to free.
Downgrade to the free plan: http://www.freedompop.com//accoun...ngradePlan
Remove premier service: http://www.freedompop.com//accoun...adePremier

Any monthly charge?

The Unlimited Talk, Text, & 1GB Plan has a free trial for the first month and $19.99/mo afterwards.. Premium Plus has a trial of the first month and $7.99/mo afterwards. You can downgrade anytime before your new month starts.

Update: there seems to be no way to remove the $19.99 charge for the first month, thus there is no "free trial" for the first month.

Why doesn't this phone work on Ring Plus or other Carriers?

We do our very best to provide the slickdeals community with the best deal in mobile as possible. This includes subsidizing the price of the phone to customers. Because of this, we have started a new policy. Read more here - https://support.freedompop.com/ap.../a_id/2139

Can I keep my current phone number?

Yes, you can Port your existing phone number over to FreedomPop for a one-time charge of $9.99.

What's Premium Plus and Premium Voice?

Visual voicemail
Usage alerts
Data rollover
MMS
Premium Voice - Make outbound calls over Sprint's Voice Network when data network is too slow.

Can I add this to an existing account?
Yes!

How do I get even more free data every month?
You can connect with other FreedomPop users through Freedom Friends (found on your account page) and earn up to an extra 500MB of extra data, every month for free! Check out this thread- http://slickdeals.net/f/5276432-freedompop-friends

The iPhone 5 is $99, not $9.99. And it's the Note 2, not the 3.

I'd stay away from the Optimus F3 at this point. No tri-band LTE, and it's stuck on Android 4.1.

The Volt is nice at $20, although 1 GB RAM is a bit on the low side these days (regular crashes on Chrome, etc.).

Good deal since they're not refurbs BUT calls only made via messaging app not native call app is the problem.

Got the 3-in-1 sim card deals but since calls are over data and not cell, makes calls less reliable than R+

Pretty sure these are refurbs and CDMA only. They don't make those phones anymore.

So $40 is the real price for the Volt. Not as good as the title implies, but honestly, that's a great phone for $40. If I wasn't already dealing with the Volt that I bought on ebay, I'd probably jump on this deal.

After the first month though, right? XXXholic probably wants to remove that $19.99 before the first month and downgrade immediately to add to his stash of phones.

As others have noted, first month of service at $19.99 is required for purchase. This should be mentioned in the title, and isn't. Thumbs down.
