Iphone 6 Replacement Battery

scsiguru 1,739 148 June 27, 2016 at 10:45 AM
My IPhone 6 is loosing it's ability to hold a charge so it's time to replace it. I was looking on Amazon for replacement options and there are quite a few. Does anyone have a preference on a particular one or brand? If so, a link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I seem to remember that if you change the battery yourself at some point in the future you would want to install an update but the update would fail unless you reinstalled the original battery.

I could be all wet but if I were you I would take the phone to an apple service center and let them do the job. Your phone is worth about $600.00 don't make the mistake many make by being stingy about repairs and making things worse in the long run.

would rather go to you local apple service center and let them change the battery. i think they will still cover the warranty if you went to them.

That was an issue with the home button/touch ID sensor. Not the battery. It was fixed in firmware.

You won't likely find oem parts, they know you won't be able to tell the difference. The best thing you can do is find a repreable seller like ifixit or a high rated seller on amazon. If on amazon be sure to read the reviews.

It can be done right using quality parts from a known good supplier at a fraction of the cost. Your silly argument can be made about any task. You dont need to hire someone to do minor repairs if you are handy.

Actually its not. Tons of youtube videos show you how. Just replaced an iphone5 screen a month ago for a friend. Tool 20 minuets at most and I never replaced an iphone screen before.
This is the tech support forum where folks are trying to solve problems without having to farm it out. Did you think the OP was not aware that apple will fix it for a fee?
