had a chance to audition 560s / old one w/screw in connectors Wink ! wouldn't call it better - but on par - a bit more neutral (matter of liking!) / OP's one (per picture) is a newer one w/push in 2.5mm connectors - a better design (IMHO) / HPs are about $900, so if you sell micro (easy @ $400 - $500 is a stretch Wink ! and if you don't have one ?! it's a keeper (one of the best if not the best ?!) solid state portable (!) amps)) $400 or $500 is a steal for HE560s Rock !

ifi micro will drive easily anything you can throw at it Wink !

Some people prefer the HE-560 for being lighter thus more comfortable for long listening sessions. Others for the lower price tag. If you tend to like warmer/darker sound, LCD-2. Other wise, give HE-560 a try.

Having listened to both at the store, I personally chose the LCD-2 and I am a happy owner. My wife who is not into headphones also clearly prefers the LCD-2.

I am actually more tempted by the 400i. The 560s just didn't impress me that much to be worth the $$$ difference.

newer tried it head to head Wink but "time" and "money" by PF did sound phenomenal + the USB powered amp on laptop (owner s of 560s) was way under-powered for HE560s ! btw - am a proud owner of LCD2 and LCD3 and if I didn't have iFi micro - ?! - probably would jump on this deal - cause it's a better deal ! would say 560s are ~95% performance of LCD2 (actually maybe 100% - they just have a more neutral signature !) but you are still getting the micro (own and like it a lot!!!) HiFiman makes solid planar HPs + I like the match (HPs + amp/dac combo) and it's a solid deal ! am surprised it not getting "the love" it deserves ! Rock

I don't have either the HE-560 or the LCD2, so I can't comment on audio quality. I do own both a HE-500 and LCD-3, so I feel like I can offer a note on reliability.

The LCD-3 came with a bad cable that Audeze replaced without any hassle. Five months in, one of my drivers died (normal operation, no apparent physical damage) and I had to send the whole unit in. Turnaround time was close to a month and I had to pay insured shipping to Audeze (kind of pricey). Others on the various audio forums have reported replacing their LCD-2/3 drivers three or four or more times now. I think it's a three-year warranty on those; out of warranty, it's $250 to replace both drivers (so they remain matched). If you pay for servicing, they renew the warranty on the new drivers. Audeze makes a great sounding headphone. I'm not sure that the LCDs really have any downsides other than the need for decent amplification. But it's hard to recommend to people unless they understand how fragile the drivers are.

My Hifiman has been perfect. I bought those second-hand (LCD-3 was new) and have owned and listened to them much longer than the Audezes.

Both are monstrously heavy.

I would have easily jumped on this deal but got the HD650+iDSD and that is working out nicely for me. The iDSD is a powerful amp/dac and works well in my work setup.

This bundled ifi amp does not contain a DAC and is not portable. It is the ifi Micro Special Edition (SE). Worth more like $250 on eBay.

EDIT: Amp is a Class "A" amp that can easily power these and practically any other headphone. You would just want a decent DAC in addition IMO.
The he400i deal is a bundled amp, the he560 deal is a dac/amp
