Thanks. This will do for me. Seems some newer PC might not work with this unit.

I wish they would manufacture these like desktop switches, with optional ears that would make it rack mountable if necessary.

Great price. You don't often see APC 1500VA UPS go on sale, seems to happen more with their 1000VA offering.
I've had my current APC for roughly 6-8 years through one battery replacement and still going strong.

A good rule of thumb is to never exceed 80% of your UPS's output capacity due to inefficiencies. PSUs show 80+ [Bronze/Gold/Platinum] indicating 80% power factor but unlike PSU, which uses more power to provide the true wattage output, battery backups don't draw more than their rated specification.

In this case, 1500VA is 865W and 80% is 692W so don't exceed this value. You can see your runtime wattage usage on the the UPS to see full load and adjust what's plugged in to battery back up. Exceeding this load, you may find the UPS become overloaded from draw. Note that this is purely for draw while power is on, NOT related to battery run time.

BR1500G spec sheet lists 86% power factor at half load.

How does this compare to the pure sine wave Cyberpower UPS offered by Newegg couple weeks ago?

Damn I just bought a BR1500G for $160 at B&H, though it included an extra smaller UPS. This is a good price.

I think this is the first time my deal alert hit for this.

No need for such harshness. I can see where the confusion lies in my statement as I didn't clarify APC UPS over 1000VA. APC sales have popped up in recent history for units around 1000VA and lots of 450-700VA ones. However, when compared to the number of popular and front page deals for CyberPower UPS (1000-1500VA), there's significantly more especially for 1300VA and 1500VA units.

It's nice to see an APC 1500VA on sale. The last popular post for an APC 1500VA was in November. I've fixed my post to clarify this.
