The 32 GB RAM for $100 looks really appealing. I've been checking slickdeals somewhat frequently and it seems like it's been a while since I've seen 2x16 GB RAM go on sale.

5 egg average on Newegg from 5 people (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...965&cm_sp=) and 5 star rating on Amazon from 1 person (https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ri...C15D-32GVR). The only thing that's off-putting to me about this deal is the low number of reviews, especially the one review on Amazon, and the 2133 MHz clock speed. Is there any reason I would need something higher, like 3200 MHz overclocked to 3600 MHz? I'm working on my first build, using an i7-6700K. I still have to find a Z170 motherboard and PSU, but after I find that and the RAM I should be able to finally start building.

I wish my laptop supported 32gb of ram. Does kingston or mushkin have that compatibility tool? My laptop requires ddr3l but the crucial program says some ddr3l ram they sell are not compatible while others are.

no. RAM clock speeds have a pretty de minimus impact on nearly every ordinary computer task (gaming, productivity, etc.). take the $ you save on RAM and put it into an NVMe SSD or a gtx 1070

I have 32gb ddr4. it's nice to be able to run 1 workspace in win10 w/ Adobe illustrator and 130 chrome tabs, and another workspace with a Linux VM w/ 12GB of RAM.

i'd say it was worth the $40 xtra it cost me (vs. 16gb), but not sure it's worth spending much more than that.

Tempting to pick up 2x 32GB pack so 4x16GB to max out my desktop at 64GB RAM for $216 after tax. Still most of it will be unused most of the time.

I'm planning on picking up 2 x 16 GB now and whenever that much RAM isn't as useful anymore I'll buy another 2 x 16 GB set of it. By that time, probably a few years from now, prices will have dropped substantially.

Bought the Mushkin 2x8GB dual channel kit for my work laptop, Lenovo T440P and it works great, little faster too since it had only one stick in it before. My main reason was so I can switch off paging on my SSD and with 8GB that was not possible for my everyday tasks.
