Just a heads up to folks looking to use these for music-listening (not music production) purposes: these are studio headphones and thus tend to have as flat a frequency response as possible so that one can analyze the music they are producing/mixing with the highest clarity and equalize accordingly.

That is, these headphones do not attempt to "color" the sound that is put through them (compared to something like Beats, which overemphasize bass frequencies) and thus may seem "dull" or "lifeless" to some listeners without a little EQ'ing on the listener's part.

I own a pair of these and they are great for my music production, also they are comfy as hell and isolate sound pretty well. They sit pretty tight on my small noggin so folks with big heads might want to stretch them out a little (no joke).

No. It is wired.

Are these adequate noise canceling headphones. Not gonna be DJing or mixing. just listening to music.

Yes. They are scary. I legitimately do not hear anything when I use these to play on my PS4. (BEYOND!)

Fortunately as you mentioned, they take EQ surprisingly well even without an amp, so if you're looking to boost bass with these headphones, you'll be happily surprised.
