The Moto G4 Plus (XT1644), Moto G4 (XT1625), and Moto G4 Play (XT1607) support all the major bands used by US carriers:

CDMA 0/1/10, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSPA 850/900/1700(AWS)/1900/2100, LTE 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/25/26/41

All three have unlockable bootloaders via Motorola's Bootloader Unlock website: https://motorola-global-portal.cu...r-device-a

Whether they'll support carrier-specific features (T-Mobile VoLTE & WiFi Calling, Verizon Advanced Calling, etc) remains to be seen.

Don't fall for the display wars hype. I have several phones that are 1080p and QHD. On a display of 5.5" the difference is hardly noticeable. On the other hand, the impact of the QHD display on performance and battery life is significant. It's absolutely not a worthwhile tradeoff.

It's just a marketing ploy by the smartphone OEMs that know that real innovation has been stagnant for a while and that they can always fall back to specs with bigger numbers to push sales.
I think the moto x pure edition is a better phone. It was $240 for 16gb and has nfc, 2k screen, front facing speakers, and better camera. This has a fingerprint scanner but they didn't put nfc on it...
According to DXOmark Mobile the Moto G(4) Plus received a score of 84 which ties it with the 6s Plus and Nexus P. The highest score belongs to the S7 Edge and the HTC10 with a score of 88.

I'm glad mid-range phones are finally getting flagship quality cameras. In a few months when the price drops I can finally get my parents a phone that will take pictures they won't complain about.

Does the moto x pure edition have the curved back, or is that just the droids? I like the curved back but get confused as to which ones they are.

anyone know how much worse the camera is on Motorola Moto G4 (4th Gen 2016 Model) vs the X Pure Edition?

I see the MP difference.. but I wasn't able to find any good reviews on it..

The G4 Plus is supposed to have an absolutely amazing camera. Not sure on the non-Plus.

B&H listed Moto G4 & Plus (all 8 versions) support NFC. :-)

GSM + CDMA / 4G LTE Wireless Connectivity
This phone is designed to work on select GSM and CDMA networks and is 4G LTE capable... In addition to cellular wireless, this phone also features Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

This or the LG G4? I'm thinking the latter, you could get it for a comparable price as well.
