I've had my eye on the Dakine Gemini 28L backpack for a few weeks. eBags [ebags.com]is selling this bag for $89.99. Sierra Trading Post has it for $45. ebags has a 110% price match guarantee, which works out to be (89.99-45)=$44.99+10%=$49.49 discount. Using the AMEX $15 off of 75 knocks this down even further.

The math:
$89.99 - 49.49(110% pricematch) - 15 (AMEX) =$25.50
possibly less with a rebate site.

steps:
- purchase the item at full price, $89.99 using your AMEX card that has ebags offer activated
- initiate a chat session with eBags support, provide the link to the http://www.sierratradingpost.com/...-gemini%2F item
- once the CSR has approved the pricematch, send the chat log to info@ebags.com

This is a larger laptop bag that has a lot of organizational pouches. The main flap can open wide for easier access to the interior.

Amex will withdraw the $15 credit after ebags refund the PM amount.
I know this because I did something similar last month, the $15 credit was posted at first as I was charged for more than $75.
May26 EBAGS INC - GREENWOOD VILLAGE -$15.00

After ebags refunded the difference and making the net charge less than $75, Amex immediately removed the $15 credit

Thanks, OP. Had been looking for a professional-looking backpack with reasonable amounts of storage for two laptops (13' MBA & 15" Dell). Think this will do the job nicely.

After they refund the difference, it will be less than 75 dollars and Amex will take the credited 15 back

Well I'm going for it to. Either way Dakine makes quality products and this can probably fit more than enough for a plane ride.

noo i just bought the North Face Surge backpack for like 62$ from ebags with Amex offer.

I mean just the fact that its 25.50 I would probably prefer this one...

Great find though

I will be wary about using AMEX offer like this unless there are other things one can buy.

Example, I ordered 79 dollars from GNC, got email about 15 refund, but then GNC went ahead and cancelled/delayed 45 dollars from it. So, only 33 was charged, and the AMEX offer was not put on the card, until i made another order of 45.

Usually AMEX credit comes after few days of order, probably when they confirm item has been delivered.

Just my experience..

FYI- I purchased from ebags last year with an AMEX offer. They emailed me after shipping that something was backordered, so they removed it. Even though Ebags credited my card within a day or two, AMEX did not remove the credit (as I expected). I would not try to game the system in this way, but it was a good deal for me. I would have been upset if the credit had been removed, since the backordered/canceled item was the main reason for the purchase.

Thanks OP for this great deal. If it can be pulled off then it's the best bag deal I've seen and I'm glad I missed out on earlier bag deals to save the AMEX offer for this. Is the emailing of the chat log to info@ebags.com necessary? I haven't seen that done for any other price match and the CSR already said that the price difference would be credited in 5-7 business days. It doesn't seem like any additional steps are required.

The chat CSR that i had a conversation with instructed me to do so. it may or may not be necessary.
