I wonder how many people are buying atmos receivers and never bother setting up their speakers to use it... Atmos requires a minimum of 8 speakers.
1 center
2 left/rights
2 rears
1 sub
2 in ceiling in line with the listener

Pretty decent price. I bought it for 299 last year, and I am enjoying it so far.

Like most features on a receiver, it's only one of many things people may want that come in a package. I have a Denon Atmos receiver but I got it for other features I wanted and not necessarily for that. I figure it might be nice to try one day...

This is the sweet spot in terms of price point and features. Great post OP! Not many people out there are going to maximize this model, and 4K/Atmos movies are just hitting the shelves, so it is ahead of the curve in that regard. Airplay & Bluetooth are two features I wish I had on my older 6 series.

Are you sure about this? Any link?

The email with promo code refers to the receiver as having 115W per channel where as the TX-NR646 on Frys website shows 170W per channel. Also, the base price is $349 in the email ad (on sale for $238) vs $599 in the website.
