I bought the same deal through ebay last year. it had 3 years of extended warranty. first 6 months through Dyson and the rest with ABC vacuum warehouse. I just used extended warranty, you are responsible to ship it to them, they fix and ship it back though.

just thought I'd add it here for people considering this deal to check for extended warranty.

here are reviews on it [newegg.com]

edit: never mind, those are reviews of the company Dyson :X - here's reviews of it at amazon [amazon.com], granted those are reviews for a new unit and not a refurb. Seems like a nice deal, I've heard the cordless ones don't have great suck power just yet.

I have the DC41 Animal and it's the best vacuum I ever had, heavy as shit and you have to remove the stupid cord before you can use the extended hose, but its suction power is unmatched.

I bought a refurb DC41 for $150 to replace an aging $75 bissel that I just couldn't get the smell out of. In terms of cleaning the Dyson is no better but its more pleasant to push and use and I've been happy with it. The filter media barely even gets dirty, after two months I opened it to wash and it didn't need to be. My only complaint about the vacuum is that it seems super delicate. The handle flexes when turning, the canister plastic is really thin and the mechanism that opens the bottom/empties the dust seems eager to break. I've been really gentle with it but I'm just waiting for the day my rough with appliances wife break it.

I have an old dc15. Anyone think this is worth upgrading?

The canister is made out of the same plastic as riot shields, you aren't breaking that part at least. I just bought a used DC41 off ebay a few weeks ago. I don't know if it is any better than other highend vacuums but coming from a cheap hoover it is pretty nice. The biggest surprise isn't the suction power it is the noise volume, the dyson is so much quieter. It picks up stuff a bit better but honestly the cheap hoover was fine there. The other really nice feature is the dyson tangle free turbin tool which this refurb from newegg doesn't appear to come with. That tool is way better than the standard useless air powered upholstery tools vacuums come with. My living room furniture hasn't been this clean in years.

my dc07 is still running like 8 year later, I wouldnt worry about dyson stuff they're surprisingly rock solid.

I tried to purchase twice and each time five minutes later the order is cancelled by newegg.
